We stayed in Suite Melinda for two weeks in late January while going to Mayo appointments. It was wonderful -- clean, quiet, comfortable. Everything we could possible need was provided. The kitchen with all of the dishes, utensils, appliances, staples and the Welcome Basket made it possible to cook for ourselves rather than having to eat every meal out. We enjoyed being able to make ourselves at home and not being cooped up in a motel room. Thank you, Dennis, for the great accommodations. We will certainly recommend Viola Suites to everyone!

There is only one word to describe Viola Suites - Outstanding! My family and I stayed at the Viola Suites for 2 months while I was in and out of the Mayo clinic for surgery and treatment. During this difficult time we felt like we were in our own home. Not only was every possible amenity provided for us, but in addition, Dennis was always on hand to make sure we were comfortable in every way. He is an exceptional person who goes beyond the call of duty on a daily basis, even providing DVD's for our young children to keep them occupied. I truly believe that my recovery was enhanced by staying at Viola Suites and am grateful that we have such a wonderful place to stay on subsequent visits to Rochester. The nicest hotel does not measure up to the at-home feeling of the Viola Suites.

Viola Suites was a wonderful place to stay. We traveled in from Beijing to visit the Mayo clinic. Having two small children and having to go through jet lag we decided that we should try and get a place with two bedrooms. What a great thing that we stumbled onto Viola Suites. Dennis made us feel so much at home. The apartment is fully furnished including dishes, cooking equipment and even basic supplies. Dennis arranges for fresh fruit, juice, milk, etc. to be stocked in the refrigerator. The apartment was clean and is much larger than a hotel room. There were a number of snows while we were there and Dennis and the grounds crew were there every day making sure the paths were shoveled and safe. It was truly our home away from home while in Rochester. We are planning to come back next year.

If you come to Rochester for Mayo clinic treatment there is only one place to stay, Viola suites. It is that simple. The owner Dennis REALLY cares about his guest. When we arrived we did not rent a car (mistake!) Dennis drove me to the local grocery store and waited while I got groceries. I must mention that these groceries were only the food we wanted to eat as all the extras; sugar, coffee, spices ect were supplied. The next day we decided to rent a car and Dennis drove us to the airport to the rental spot. The suites are immaculate and quite roomy. After coming home from long days at the May clinic the comfort of walking up your personal steps into your personal home away from home cannot be adequately described. Do yourself a favor (you'll have enough to deal with at the Mayo) stay as Dennis and Tiffany's guest at Viola Suites. You will not be disappointed.

If you prefer a relaxing, private, home–type setting rather than a bustling, public hotel-type setting, the Abbey is for you. From the big yard with trees, a campfire site, and an outdoor seating area outside your door to the well-stocked kitchen with all the condiments and utensils you need, you feel, at the end of the day, like you’re going “home.” The owner is dedicated to being available and to helping you. No question is too silly, no detail is too small to help make what may be a difficult time one that is tolerable and even enjoyable. Our 2 ½ month stay was a more positive experience, not only because of the competence of the Mayo staff, but also because of a lovely, restful place to stay.

Where do I start, my husband and I stayed for almost a week while I had appointments at the Mayo Clinic. We brought our 10 yr old boxer, Samson, with us. Samson had not been himself for almost a month and we were worried about him. Unfortunately, Samson suffered a stroke on our last morning at Viola Suites. After contacting Dennis and Tiffany for help, they not only came right away, but Tiffany left her doctors office and cancelled her own appointment to come. She then called around to get us an emergency visit for our Samson.
Sadly, Samson's stroke was severe and we had to say goodbye to our friend that day. Dennis and Tiffany not only provide a beautiful, cozy, clean and comfortable place to stay, with anything you could possibly need, but they went above and beyond and made us to feel that we were truly among friends. We will always be greatful for clicking on the link that led us to the Viola Suites. GOD Bless! Christine Black Hills, SD
We stayed at Viola Suites while on a recent trip to Minnesota. We had a 2 bedroom suite with kitchen, living room, dishes, utensils, everything you would need to be comfortable. The owner, Dennis, is a gracious host and I'm sure anyone who stayed here would have no complaints.

I could never find a more perfect place to stay than at An Abbey at Viola Suites in Rochester, Minnesota. My "Suite" at An Abbey at Viola Suites was so much more than I could ever have imagined. Located just outside of the town of Rochester, Minnesota, the hotel is next a wildlife preserve- nestled comfortably there. That is just how it made me feel to stay there- nestled comfortably in an apartment setting which was quiet and serene. It certainly helped me to feel comfortable during my visit to the Mayo Clinic- especially since I was a single female and traveled there all by myself. An Abbey at Viola Suites is more like coming home than returning to a hotel. And my host was spectacular and was there to take care of any of my needs during my stay. His warm and friendly demeanor also helped me to feel so comfortable and took away my fears of being treated at the clinic all by myself. I could never have found a better place. I will be sure to book my stay with An Abbey at Viola Suites upon my return to Rochester.

Viola Suites had everything we wanted for our week in Rochester: fully stocked fridge and pantry, a stylish and comfortable living area with a dining room and a serene setting. It was truly a home away from home. The owner and staff are friendly and very helpful. They ran airport and clinic shuttles and kept the place immaculate. We felt well prepared for and well looked after. When we wanted to cook our own meals, we'd open the cupboard and there was everything we needed.
The view from the back deck into the woods is lovely. The grounds are private and pretty.
If you ever plan to visit Rochester for a few days, Viola Suites is ideal.

A perfect location for those who want to stay out of the city limits and enjoy the amenities of a peaceful environment and the comforts of home. Suites are like private apartments and provide all imaginable staples to maintain a full kitchen. Price is affordable compared to others especially given the added touches, you can literally prepare all your meals there and save a bundle on dining out. Shuttle service is available during the Winter months, site is approx 2 miles from the Mayo Clinic for those who are patients. Site is on a beautiful acreage with trees and lovely landscape around it. Enjoy TV, movies, games all you could ask for.

Thank you Dennis for the quiet apartment and all the things we needed for us to use. We enjoyed our stay as much as we could under the circumstances. If we know someone coming to Rochester we will sure tell them to contact the Abbey.

I just wanted to comment that my stay here was wonderful. The apartment was very comfortable and cozy. All my care givers (4) commented how I made a good choice to stay here. I love the woods and the setting, our location of the Abbey was perfect for me. I found the quiet and evergreens out my window to be very healing, you are also, caring, genuinely caring. I would highly recommend Viola Suites to anyone. You were right: the apartment IS fully loaded compared to the places in town.
Thank you for everything

Dennis,
Just want to thank you for all you did while we were in Rochester. I recommend your place to people who have to go to Mayo Clinic. Hope you get some business from that.

Dear Mr.. Dennis and Kevin,
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house! We have been barbecuing three times on three beautiful afternoons. In the bird house, there is a nest that we call the "small birds". We take the fond memory of this place back home to Holland.
Thanks and Greetings,
Fritz and Nan
Hi Dennis,
Just a quick note to tell you how much we enjoyed our 2 1/2 monthretreat at An Abbey at Viola Suites. We were not here as you know for pleasure but you sure made things a lot easier for us. Thanks. I'm sure you are busy doing yard work at three places.
Thanks again,

I just wanted to say thanks for everything at Viola Suites a few weeks ago. Rebekah is doing much better.
I am glad we got her in the program at the pain clinic. She has a life now, and doing more then she ever did before. We still have a ways to go, but we have come a great distance. You have a nice place. You made our stay comfortable and really like a home. With that I can only sat thanks for your ministry of service.
If you decide to move south, call me - Lake Martin is great.

We had a wonderful stay with you and your place meets the highest standards. When I first saw your web site it said more then you ever expected, I figured that that was just some advertising sounding off.
Well it was true and we had a wonderful stay here and will tell everyone we know.

Dear Dennis,
Just a quick note to let you know things are going great now for my dad. My brother is healing up just fine also and we wanted to send you a thank you! Thank you for taking time to talk to me the very first time I called and all the times after that. Thank you for building your place there for families like ours. It is a tough enough situation to be going through, but having a "home away from home" made it so much easier. We just want you to know that we appreciate you.
Thank you,

Cheryl,
I would like to say "thank-you" for your presence in my life this past couple of months. As you know, it has been a very difficult and trying time. . You were there, doing everything you possibly could to help me when I had literally reached the end of my strength. Thank you for all the temperature adjustments. It has been extremely difficult for us to adjust to the heat and humidity here. Thank you for always having a smile, a friendly word and for having the time to talk a little. We felt very isolated and you took that isolation away. Your beautiful smile is a gift from God to others; use it often.
